Q: When does registration open and close?
A: Registration typically opens in late winter for the outdoor season and in late summer for the indoor season. Exact dates will be posted on our website and Facebook page.
Q: Why have registration fees changed from previous years?
A: Fees reflect the actual costs of running each program, including facility rentals, referees, equipment, uniforms, and coaching support. Parents now only pay for the programs their child participates in.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: Payment can be made online by credit card.
Q: Are financial assistance programs available?
A: Yes! We work with Jumpstart, KidSport, and local support programs to help families in need. Contact us for details before registering. clmsa.ca
Q: What age groups do you o er?
A: Programs start at U5 (4-year-olds) and run through to U19. We also o er adult recreational soccer when enough interest is shown.
Q: How are teams formed?
A: Teams are formed based on age, skill level, and registration numbers. For competitive divisions, player evaluations help place players on the right team for their development.
Q: What’s the difference between House League and Travel/Tiered Teams?
A: House League is local, recreational play with minimal travel. Travel/Tiered Teams represent C old Lake in league games and tournaments across the Lakeland region and beyond.
Q: When does the outdoor season run?
A: Mid-April to Mid-July, with some competitive teams extending into July/August for tournaments.
Q: When does the indoor season run?
A: Early October to Mid-March, depending on facility availability.
Q: How often do players practice or play?
A: Most age groups have two events per week (one practice, one game). Competitive teams may have additional practices or games.
Q: What does my child need to bring?
A: Shin guards, soccer socks, indoor/outdoor shoes (depending on the season), and a water bottle. Jerseys are provided; shorts and socks may be included depending on the program.
Q: C an players wear jewelry?
A: No. For safety, all jewelry must be removed before games and practices.
Q: How can I volunteer?
A: We are always looking for coaches, assistant coaches, team managers, and event helpers. Volunteer honorariums are available for certain roles.
Q: Do coaches receive training?
A: Yes! We provide coaching resources, clinics, and mentorship to help you succeed.
Q: How will I know if a game or practice is cancelled?
A: Cancellations are posted on our Facebook page, emailed to registered families, and sent via RAMP notifications when possible.
Q: What happens in bad weather?
A: Outdoor soccer will proceed in light rain but will be cancelled for lightning, severe weather, or unsafe field conditions.
Q: What is your approach to player safety?
A: We follow the Rule of Two, ensure all coaches complete the required Respect in Sport and Safe Sport training, and have policies for change rooms, travel, and conduct.
Q: What if I have a concern or complaint?
A: Concerns should be submitted in writing to our Executive Board. We handle all issues confidentially and according to our published policies.
